Bianca Jürgens is a VR Solution Scout & Architect at the Virtual Reality Center for Mercedes-Benz Cars in Sindelfingen, Germany. She’s responsible for looking out for new technologies and solutions in the VR sector and subsequently for the integration of these technologies into the engineering process at Mercedes-Benz Cars. She started working for the Daimler Company at first in the Realtime Visualization field for engineering purposes. In July she will present VR methods in vehicle development at DIGILITY and therefore we asked her some questions about her work at Mercedes-Benz.

Markus Westphal is Head of Competence Center Module Assembly/Sequences at Schnellecke Logistics and is responsible for logistic solutions for the automobile industry worldwide. Schnellecke provides complete concepts - from transport and route planning, warehouse management, pre-assemblies and value-adding services.

At DIGILITY Markus will give a speech about the use of picking systems in logistics. For a new project in Wolfsburg Schnellecke works with Pick-by-vision applications with Google Glass. Workers are able to accomplish their tasks faster and more precisely.

And here we are again! These are our news for DIGILITY's 3rd edition in 2018:

From next year on, DIGILITY, the leading B2B conference and expo on technologies and services for digital realities, 3D and artificial intelligence, will take place simultaneously with photokina, the world's leading trade fair for imaging. DIGILITY stays an high dynamic and independent two days event on 26th and 27th of September 2018 and will be located in hall 5.1 at Koelnmesse. From 2019 onwards, both, DIGILITY and photokina, will be held annually in May. For DIGILITY and its players, the chance is offered to activate the great international visitor and business potential of photokina for themselves and to gain new cooperation partners, since digital realities represent an extremely important field of growth for the imaging industry.

"The biggest challenge for VR is Content": An Interview with Mel Slater (Virtual BodyWorks)

Prof. Mel Slater is an ICREA Research Professor at the University of Barcelona where he co-leads the Experimental Virtual Environments for Neuroscience and Technology (EVENT) Lab. In 2005 he was awarded the Virtual Reality Career Award by IEEE Virtual Reality ‘In Recognition of Seminal Achievements in Engineering Virtual Reality.’ He has been involved in and led several international projects in this field.

At #DIGILITY17 he will give the opening keynote on Thursday (day 2) and we are very curious to hear his visions for virtual reality. For now, we had the chance to interview him before DIGILITY. Enjoy reading!
